Job Summary:
TMA is seeking an experienced and innovative Hardware Design Engineer specializing in Communication Systems to join our high-performance development team. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and validating hardware components used in critical communication infrastructure. Your work will support the development of secure, high-speed, and robust systems used across advanced networking and edge communication applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication Hardware Design:
- Design and develop analog, digital, and power circuits for communication systems.
- Engineer RF signal paths, high-speed interfaces, and filter circuits for optimized data integrity and low noise.
- PCB Development & Layout:
- Perform detailed multilayer PCB design focusing on signal integrity, impedance matching, and thermal stability.
- Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC standards and support long-term reliability in various operational environments.
- Simulation & Analysis:
- Use tools like Flotherm, SPICE, and electromagnetic simulators to conduct thermal, electrical, and EMI simulations.
- Analyze system-level behavior including power distribution, vibration, and environmental stress factors.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Design in accordance with TMA internal standards and applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., NEBS, UL).
- Document design processes and support testing for certification and quality audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with mechanical, software, and test engineers to ensure seamless hardware integration.
- Support product lifecycle from prototyping to mass production and field deployment.
- Prototyping & Testing:
- Assemble and validate prototype boards; conduct debugging and fine-tuning.
- Perform comprehensive hardware validation under simulated operating conditions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in hardware design for communication or embedded systems
- Expertise in high-speed digital and analog circuit design, signal integrity, and power delivery
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC countermeasures and ESD protection
- Skilled in simulation tools (thermal, signal, structural) and PCB CAD platforms
- Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and structural analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial CAD tools like Altium, Cadence, kiCAD.
- Prior work aligned with NEBS or telecom-grade standards
- Understanding of communication protocols (Ethernet, LTE, optical systems, etc.)
- Japanese language ability is a plus, but not required
