Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, security, availability, and performance across multiple environments. This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of database technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB)
- Ensure database systems meet business needs and performance requirements
- Monitor database performance, tune SQL queries, and optimize indexing
- Implement robust backup and recovery procedures
- Maintain database security, including user access control and data encryption
- Design and implement data models and database structures
- Automate routine maintenance tasks using scripts or tools
- Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and DevOps teams to support application development and deployment
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner
- Maintain documentation on database configurations, procedures, and policies
Required skills/Experience:
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS)
- Experience with performance tuning, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus
- Good understanding of data security and privacy standards
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Software Engineering).
- TOEIC score: ≥650 or an equivalent level of English proficiency
Nice to have:
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
Years of experiences: 1-2 YoE
